shepherd“Wherefore, how great the importance to make these things known unto the inhabitants of the earth, that they may know that there is no flesh that can dwell in the presence of God, save it be through the merits, and mercy, and grace of the Holy Messiah” (2 Nephi 2:8)

As part of the Mormon Documentation Project, this project’s goal is to provide the LDS canon of scriptures in a standardized format for developers to use in applications.

The Scriptures included are all the standard works of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints:

King James Version of the Holy Bible

Modern Revelation and Translated Scriptures

The current release is version 3.0, created on 2013-11-04 (ChangeLog).

Database exports have been created for MySQL, PostgreSQL and SQLite 3.  You can download from SourceForge or directly here.

The old website is still available, if you feel inclined to view it.

Any kind of feedback is always appreciated. I’m always interested to hear how people are using the exports, if they are helpful, or if there are any bugs they’ve found or have any feature requests.

You can also see all my other websites about the scriptures at nephi.org.

Comments on the blog are disabled, so please contact me directly.

Any plans to make the conference articles available as well? Any idea where I might be able to get them in an easy to use format?

    Great resource David, thank you!
I was wondering if by any chance you have or know where I can find the LDS complete set of the Scriptures in .txt format?
    Happy Christmas!

You just want a plaintext file? That’s easy enough to generate. Any specific formatting requirements?

I’m assuming that you are using the king james version of the bible. I am also assuming that you are using the latest LDS book of mormon version. I am also assuming that you are using the latest doctrine and covenants version rather then the original book of commandments. Is that correct? If not can you tell me which version you are using of all of those?

Are you going to add chapter headings? Also how did you produce this without typing it from scratch? Great work, thanks.

No plans to do chapter headings, sorry. As for the original source, I got it *years* ago from some other scripture application as a source. It’s been so long, I honestly don’t remember where I got it.
