Anyone who has downloaded and looked at the XML format, and is proficient in using the language, can tell right way the the format is ineffective.Work is already being done to cleanup the export considerably. You can download the latest release effort here.
I've started working on a class called mdpScriptures written in PHP for those who want to use one of the database backends.If you'd like to help out, please let me know.
